Just what is the "Los Caminos del Café" Ambassadors project?

Los Caminos del Café” is currently underway in the private sector of the town of Santiago de Cuba in the form of the “ambassadors” project, aiming to boost coffee culture and the French footprint in Cuba, appreciate the quality of the proposals of the self-employed sector at their true value and mutually disclose all proposals.

What duties face an ambassador for the "Los Caminos del Café" project?

Ambassadors must display the project logo as proof and a guarantee.

Project Ambassadors must introduce their customers to the key project locations, La Fraternidad and Casa Dranguet, e.g. by handing out an information leaflet.

Project Ambassadors will grant priority to assets and/or services which highlight Cuban cultural heritage, mainly coffee-related sites, based on the characteristics of their own private operation. E.g. Propose high-quality Cuban coffee to their customers; main dishes, desserts or drinks prepared with coffee; and desserts or drinks reflecting the French influence in Cuba.

Project Ambassadors specialised in accommodation must be able to offer comfortable rooms, and give a warm welcome to customers.

How can you become an ambassador for the "Los Caminos del Café" project?

Are you a private entrepreneur (self-employed) looking to become an ambassador for the “Los Caminos del Café” project? You must meet a few requirements.

If you own a private restaurant, you must:

  • Propose a high-quality Cuban coffee to your customers.
  • Promote coffee by offering coffee-based dishes, desserts or drinks.
  • Promote coffee by demonstrating your artisanal expertise or an original coffee product.
  • Propose dishes, desserts or drinks reflecting the French influence in Cuba.

If you rent rooms out, you must:

  • Offer clean rooms, in a good condition (furniture, walls, floors, ceiling)
  • Offer comfortable and clean beds and sheets in good condition
  • Provide electrical equipment in good condition
  • Offer a clean bathroom and toilet in good condition
  • Provide a separate reception room to greet customers
  • Give customers a warm welcome
  • Propose a high-quality Cuban coffee or drinks promoting high-quality Cuban coffee to your customers.

What benefits will an ambassador for the "Los Caminos del Café" project receive?

Los Caminos del Café will promote the work and activities of the different Ambassadors involved in the project, particularly by advertising the former on the different communications media used for the project (website, Facebook, Casa Dranguet)

Ambassadors can make themselves known via a network of local, national and international institutions and tourists thanks to the project.

Los Caminos del Café can provide its Ambassadors with training courses, aiming to improve their practical and technical knowledge of coffee and how it is prepared.

Los Caminos del Café can also provide its Ambassadors with cooking courses on various subjects (the French influence on Cuban gastronomy, integrating coffee in recipes, etc.).

Los Caminos del Café commits to organising professional exchange programmes between national and international project Ambassadors.

Los Caminos del Café invites artists to display how they have boosted Cuban artistic heritage to the customers of Casa Dranguet and La Fraternidad.

Los Caminos del Café can also offer artists the option to record their works at the “Gallo Negro” Casa Dranguet recording studio. Recording sessions must be organised in advance.

Los Caminos del Café can allow its Ambassadors to use Casa Dranguet for special and professional events, which must be organised in advance.
